Racing For A Cause
On May 31st, OMSRL and BEER League competitor Barrett Morton hosted a charity race, the Riley's Roses 65 For Cystic Fibrosis, with the goal of raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation under his team, Riley's Roses. The event saw excellent turnout, with 40 drivers donating to run in the charity race. The event saw donations rise to over $1,000, a phenomenal number.

Championships Running Down
Two series are seeing their title runs growing ever nearer, the TNGG IEL Truck Series, and the SPEED Tires Plus Cup Series, with SPEED hosting its season finale later this week.

In Speed, it's looking all but certain for Jason Gracias, who will enter the final race 13 points ahead of 2nd place runner Ryan Shelton. Shelton and Gracias have been in a constant dogfight all season, but with Shelton being forced to miss this past weeks race, Gracias was able to gap him. Whether he'll hang onto his lead though remains to be seen in the last race at the Iowa Speedway.

Meanwhile in TNGG, Aaron Raymond has put on an astonishing performance, with the Vermont native scoring 4 back-to-back wins, before being disrupted at Texas by Scott Rankin. With two races left, Raymond stands 42 points above Rankin, with Paul Witt trailing 49 behind Raymond.

For TNGG, there has been a particular shakeup in the form of a brand new aerodynamics rework on the trucks, which has made passing much more difficult at the intermediate tracks. It is still to be seen how this will impact the final races at North Wilkesboro and Gateway. Raymond walks into North Carolina with the chance to lock out the championship one week early.

Controversy And Drama In ASRL
One league that has been thrust center-stage the last few weeks was the ASRL NextGen Cup Series, as the 3-race playoffs got underway. Hunter Engrav would not be nearly as dominant as he would be all-season long. At Richmond, Engrav fell victim to an iRacing bug that trapped him a lap down, forcing him to finish in 4th after an impressive recovery drive.

The real drama would kick off at Texas though. During green flag pit stops, Engrav had been pitting in right behind Jan Van Lier. Engrav got a little close for Van Lier's comfort and gassed it, believing Engrav was going to hit him in the rear. This caused Van Lier to speed in pit road, an event he placed blame solely on the #49. Van Lier would retaliate late in the race, taking Engrav out of competition.

This meant that Joshua Heagy, Hunter Engrav, and Matt Schlosser would be separated by a meer 8 points entering the season finale at Auto Club. For Engrav though, he would not be able to put on the clinics he had been known for, as an injury would see him sidelined for the final race. The race came down to a titanic battle between Heagy and Matt Schlosser, with there seldom being a time when the points lead was more than 2 or 3 points apart. It was finally secured for Heagy on the final lap, when Schlosser ran out of fuel entering turn 1. Joshua Heagy was able to take the first championship in ASRL's oval series.

Major Events
June is going to prove to be an exciting month, with several major events taking place throughout the month. Among those will of course be the Speed Tires Plus Cup Series's championship round this coming Thursday.

Just two days later the VSCA SportsCar Championship will swing to New York for the 6 Hours Of The Glen, and after an extended break for the iRacing Indy 500, the Classic Indycar Series will have the first of 3 triple-crown events, with a 500 mile race around the Pocono Raceway.

The TNGG IEL Truck Series will also see its final race, with the championship coming to a close at the World Wide Technology Raceway. Following this, the series will be re-organized into the TNGG SRA Truck Series under new branding, along with the Superspeedway Blitz among others, like a new Street Stock series!
